Mark Alexander is Executive Producer of Songs Just for Me. Mark has been a music educator for over 15 years and holds a Fine Arts Honours degree in Music Composition and a Bachelor of Education from York University. A former teacher, Mark’s love for music and children made the Just for Me CD a natural progression in his career that has included performing, songwriting and scoring for film and television. John Amenta is a classic victim of Peter Pan syndrome -- he never wants to grow up, making him a perfect choice for this project. John has played leading roles in such musicals as Grease and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and has sung with Charlotte Diamond at the annual Variety Club Telethon. John’s message to all children is, "Follow your heart, and it will lead you to amazing places.”
Cindy Ashton holds an Honours B.A. in Music from York University and has studied singing, dancing & acting with the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, Second City, Livent of Canada & Toronto Dance Theatre. Phil Kee has a long association with children and their musical development as a teacher, composer and performer all over the world, from the Yukon Territory to the remote villages of the former Yugoslavia. Based in Toronto, his band, "PHIL 'n' the DOTS", is a fixture on the city’s club and festival scene.
Amélie Lefebvre is a romantic at heart. Inspired by the world around her, she takes pleasure in playing and singing her songs with passion. In 2005, Amélie won both the SOCAN-sponsored Best Singer-Songwriter AND Best Song Awards, as part of Ontario Pop's 20th Anniversary Awards. She launched her first CD Amélie in November 2006. Jordan O’Connor is the founder of The Breath Studio in Toronto, Canada. His film scoring credits include such films as “The Squeeze Box” and “Rolling Longaniza”. Jordan breathes life into the orchestral arrangements of the Just For Me CD. More of his music can be heard at www.thebreath.com
Phoebe Pothaar is a freelance graphic designer at the Ontario College of Art and Design. She is also involved in painting, drawing, ceramics, illustration and photography. “Febe” has designed for Vancouver based design company Xraided Media, creating album covers and promotional items for bands on the west coast music scene. Sharmaine Ryan is an actress and singer with a deep and devoted love of musicals. She has spent her career gypsying across the country, playing such roles as "Anne" in Anne of Green Gables, "Dorothy" in the Wizard of Oz, both "Wendy" and "Tinkerbell" in Peter Pan, and "Frenchy" in Grease. She never dreamed the day she stood at the Just for Me microphone and sang "Bennett," that her own little miracle would someday be listening to her song.
Ailen Taitt grew up listening to everything from calypso to John Denver, sparking an early interest in music of all forms. This talented singer/songwriter credits her father for her musical ability. One of two Taitt sisters on this project, Ailen’s beautiful voice is a welcome addition to the Just for Me CD.
Tanisha Taitt is a Toronto based songwriter and vocalist whose prolific output has to date yielded nearly 600 songs. She is an Honours graduate of the Harris Institute for the Arts, where she completed a double-major in Audio Production and Music Business.
